In a typical session…
I invite you to tune into your body and notice what is happening to your body as you speak or have an experience. Integrating an awareness of body sensations with your narrative can help us understand how you process information. I may experiment with dreamwork, guided imagery, chair work, and other techniques to help bring past and current struggles to life in the therapeutic setting.
Areas of Specialization
My client base includes adults in creative fields such as artists, writers, actors, and musicians. Our work has focused on using art as a therapeutic tool, processing the life experiences that prompted artistic pursuits, and on dealing with the struggles which follow from choosing art as a lifestyle and as a career.
Another area of focus in my practice is women’s mental health. We explore identity, relationships, career, pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood. Themes that frequently emerge during our sessions include the mother/daughter dynamic, and the impact of culture and society on perceptions of self and influence of life choices.
I also work with individuals who are struggling to navigate two worlds - dual cultures, families, identities, work/life balance and diverse interests.
Limited Caseload
I work with only fifteen clients at a time in order to provide the best treatment possible. If I don’t have any openings, you can join my waitlist, or I can refer you to a therapist who works in a similar style.
